Tendril Drift

Six designs, spread across 33 flags in the historic center of Bruges.

2026 || Drawings||Flags

The flags are fragments from Metaplasia, a series of drawings inspired by the jellyfish and its capacity for transformation and adaptation. Within Metaplasia, identity becomes something fluid—constantly changing under the influence of its surroundings.

In Tendril Drift, the drawings become signals sent out into the world. A flag catches the eye, but you never know what it might set in motion. An idea can take root, branch out, form new connections, or unexpectedly take on a life of its own.

In the historic center of Bruges, residents, visitors, tourists, and passers-by move through the same space. The flags merge into this flow, swaying in the wind among people, buildings, and movement. What one person barely notices may prompt another to stop, think, and give it a meaning of their own.

Tendril Drift is a collaboration between the Cultural Center Bruges and BHC.

The flags will be displayed from September till the end of October.
